We will be open on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, the complete La Motte Farm Experience will be closed for installation from 30 June to 8 July 2025.
Autumn is a season of quiet transition. After the rush of harvest, the land exhales, embracing stillness before the winter rains arrive. It is a moment of reflection, a natural landmark in the cycle of seasons.
Landmarks, the new exhibition in the La Motte Ateljee, explores the idea of landmarks through two distinct yet deeply connected materials: leather and watercolour. Each, in its own way, marks time, preserves history, and tells a story of the land.
Visitors to the La Motte Ateljee can expect warm, earthy tones and textures reminiscent of rich soil and the full-bodied hue of red wine, marking a seasonal shift and a landmark in time. The exhibition also includes a series of engaging workshops, and visitors can purchase products crafted by the featured artists at the La Motte Farm Shop.

Paint your own artwork
Join us in the La Motte Ateljee to paint (and share!) something that brings you joy.
Brush up on your creativity and create a painting at your leisure over a glass of wine in the new Ateljee Workspace.
You can take your completed artwork home, or place it back onto the wall to create a collective painting (we will return it to you by courier after the exhibition).
Cost: R450 including a glass of wine or a non-alcoholic drink from the menu.
Available until 9 March, from Wednesdays to Sundays. Book a day on which you would like to join us. The first session starts at 10:00 and you can join us any time until 15:00.
Please note that for children to participate, they should be older than 6 years and accompanied by an adult.
