Pastry Chef
La Motte Artisanal Bakery & Garden Café is seeking an experienced and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- daily running and overseeing of all pastry preparations
- create and develop new seasonal desserts and pastry items
- costing of all new recipes
- managing kitchen inventory, ordering and stock control
- training and managing pastry staff
- oversee and support other restaurant departments with the development of new desserts and pastries
Applications are awaited from persons who comply with the following:
- degree or diploma in culinary arts or a related qualification
- at least 3 years’ experience in a similar position
- extensive knowledge of pastry, confectionary techniques and current trends
- strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- willingness to work weekends and public holidays
- own reliable transport

Design, Communications and Gallery Coordinator
We are seeking a creative all-rounder with an eye for design, a passion for art and the energy to bring the Ateljee’s stories, spaces and programmes to life.
This person will work closely with the Ateljee team to turn creative ideas and programmes into engaging visitor experiences.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- coordinate the Ateljee’s visual identity, communications and public programme
- develop and produce graphic design and visual content for exhibitions, workshops, events and digital platforms
- support Ateljee operations, including front-of-house activities and visitor engagement
- assist with the planning, coordination and execution of events and exhibitions
- liaise with artists, facilitators, suppliers and other stakeholders as required
- help with art installations
- provide general support to the Art Curator and Ateljee team as needed

- a passion for art, design and creative communication
- relevant experience in graphic design, visual communications, marketing or a creative environment
- strong design skills
- experience in creating promotional and digital content
- strong organisational and project coordination skills
