Personal Assistant (Farm)
We are seeking a dedicated individual with a positive outlook to join the farm team at La Motte Wine Estate in the Franschhoek Valley.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- general office duties and administration
- diary management
- setting up meetings and taking minutes
- handling telephone enquiries
- managing petty cash and performing monthly reconciliations
- processing invoices
- processing logbooks
- liaison with suppliers
- assistance with ethical audits (WIETA, IBW, IPW)
- all other administrative duties and tasks related to this position

- appropriate tertiary qualification
- at least 3 years’ relevant experience
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- advanced computer skills (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook)
- experience in Wine MS and Donkerhoek Farm Management is advantageous
- thorough, organised work methods and attention to detail
- ability to work independently

Commis Chef
La Motte Wine Estate in the Franschhoek Valley requires a vibrant person, with an abundance of energy and enthusiasm to join the team at L’Ami Family Brasserie.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- measuring meal ingredients for the Chefs
- preparing meal ingredients, which includes seasoning of different meats as well as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits
- preparing basic salads and sauces as directed by the Chefs
- taking inventory when needed
- discarding expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezers
- performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that workstations are properly sanitized
- plating and presenting meal items as per the Chef’s instructions.

- degree or diploma in culinary arts / formal chefs training
- minimum of one years’ experience in a similar position

Commis Chef - Pastry
La Motte Wine Farm in the Franschhoek Valley requires a passionate Commis Chef – Pastry to join the Bakery team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Assist Pastry Chefs to create innovative desserts, pastries, and confectionary items according to established recipes and standards
- measure and prepare ingredients ensuring correct handling and storage of ingredients
- assist with inventory and stock management
- ensure cleanliness of pastry section by following strict hygiene regulations

- degree or diploma in culinary arts / formal chefs training
- previous experience in a similar position
- knowledge of and a strong interest in a variety of pastry and confectionary techniques and trends*
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to function as part of a team

- ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- willingness to work on weekends and public holidays
- own transport
