Sales Manager (South Africa and Africa)

Historic Wines of the Cape in the Franschhoek Valley requires a dedicated, innovative and service- orientated person to join the sales team of La Motte Wine Estate and Leopard’s Leap Wines.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

  • development of the Africa and South Africa wine markets
  • effective implementation and monitoring of the marketing and sales strategy
  • effective communication with national and international agents, distributors and sales representatives
  • trade visits
  • compilation and processing of sales data
  • co-ordination of trade promotions
  • budget control
  • sales and marketing administration
  • market research
  • handling client inquiries and communication.

Art Curator

La Motte Wine Estate in the Franschhoek Valley requires a person with a thorough knowledge of and affinity for art, culture and historical aspects to join the La Motte team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • engaging with visitors to the La Motte Studio about the history/heritage, art and exhibitions
  • maintaining and preserving the permanent collections
  • managing the studio programme of exhibitions and workshops
  • cultivating and maintaining relationships with artists, artisans and creative collaborators
  • managing the Studio regarding visitor reception, budget, security, maintenance, etc.
  • formulating and presenting art & cultural experiences on the estate
  • liaison with culturally related organisations, art and culture media and associated tourism organisations
  • provide interior styling assistance

La Motte Wine Farm in the Franschhoek Valley requires a passionate Junior Pastry Chef to join the Bakery team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • work closely with the Head Pastry Chef to create innovative desserts, pastries, and confectionary items
  • continuously explore new techniques, flavours and trends in pastry-making to keep menu fresh and exciting
  • assisting with inventory and stock management

Commis Chef

La Motte Wine Estate in the Franschhoek Valley requires a vibrant person, with an abundance of energy and enthusiasm to join the Bakery team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Measuring meal ingredients for the Chefs
  • Preparing meal ingredients, which includes seasoning different meats as well as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits
  • Preparing basic salads and sauces as directed by the Chefs
  • Taking inventory when needed
  • Discarding expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezers
  • Performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that workstations are properly sanitized
  • Plating and presenting meal items as per the Chef’s instructions.
