String Theory with Danielle Clough

Join Danielle Clough in a two-day embroidery workshop where you will cover basic (non-intimidating) colour theory, create unique colour palettes from loved items, and explore new techniques, colour-blending and materials. This workshop is designed to break free of the pressure of perfection, to play and indulge in colour and texture.

Using texture, figurative imagery, portraiture and collage, Danielle will teach you to break free of the pressure of perfection and indulge in play. Through String Theory, you will discover your voice in this amazing threaded medium and go home with a bespoke kit to keep sewing going.

Skill level: 

• This is an intermediate workshop on embroidery and material. A general understanding of basic embroidery will be helpful.

What will be provided and what you will need to bring with: 

• Each guest will receive an embroidery kit and Danielle will provide threads, fabric, pens, pencils and other materials you will need. If you have any favourite fabric, threads, pencils or pens, feel free to bring them along.
• Please bring your cell phone with, as your everyday tool will help you to find your colours for your artworks.
• Included in the two-day workshop will be a coffee and croissant break each morning, as well as a seasonal lunch at our bakery.
