Woven Patches: A Colour Study of La Motte with Gina van der Ploeg
Step into a slower rhythm and explore the rich winter palette of La Motte through weaving and walking. In this intimate, hands-on workshop, guests will begin with a quiet guided walk through the estate - observing the subtle hues of the sky, earth, and seasonal plant life.
Back in the studio, you’ll create your own woven patch using a handmade cardboard loom and a selection of colourful waste yarns and fabric strips sourced from local textile industries. Each patch becomes a tactile field note, a small, textural memory of the landscape captured in thread.
This workshop is perfect for anyone curious about colour, craft, and creative reuse. In addition to a coffee and pastry break, guests will receive a bespoke seasonal lunch at the bakery especially curated for this workshop, inspired by the work of Gina van der Ploeg.
