Another Vintage of Joy - 2025 Vin de Joie Rosé

Inspired by the delicate pink wines of Provence, generous glasses of La Motte’s Vin de Joie Rosé are evocative of alfresco summer lunches with friends and family or balmy, romantic sunsets. We often picture our Vin de Joie glasses with condensation on the outside and tables filled with fresh salads and Mediterranean delicacies. What a delight!

Releasing our 2025 vintage during the winter months, however, brought us another joyful reason to pour this versatile wine. Served at a milder temperature, this delightful blend of 69% Grenache, 18% Mourvèdre, 9% Cinsault and 4% Shiraz offers a charming bouquet and marvellously mellow mouthfeel. Although more restrained when served well-chilled, the nose offers well-defined melon, grapefruit and nectarine as well as hint of sweet candy floss – especially in the young wine. Remarkably rounded on the palate for a dry wine, it has a subtle minerality and lingering finish of fresh nectarine to ensure every glassful offers graceful elegance.

Grapes for the 2025 Vin de Joie Rosé originate from Stellenbosch (Grenache), Franschhoek (Mourvèdre and Cinsault) and Elim (Shiraz). A dedicated Rosé-making protocol was followed from the vineyards to the cellar and the grapes were harvested on different dates and as they ripened before being processed separately. To release as little colour as possible during crush, the grapes were cooled down overnight before being destemmed. Only the first six hundred litres of free run juice per ton were used in the making of this wine.

With its charming shades from salmon pink to onion skin, the Vin de Joie Rosé is typically Mediterranean in appearance and while staying a sensational summer sipper, we are delighted that it also brings joy to cooler days, fireside get-togethers and winter-warming recipes!

We know you love a refreshing glass with simple salads, charcuterie and fresh seafood, but do remember that a generous pour of the 2025 Vin de Joie Rosé also embraces wintery options such as paella with saffron and a classic seafood soup such as this French Fish Soup with Red Pepper Rouille (Soupe de Poisson).
