After a few tweaks, our tasting room is cosy and inviting. During the warmer months, weighty doors open to let in the fresh breeze, while an immense fireplace ensures winters are snug and welcoming. Guests can enjoy their wine tasting or food and wine pairing in a sublimely relaxing atmosphere. Whether seated at handmade tables or on the grand sofas, wine lovers can see the immaculate working cellar through great glass panels while enjoying the character-rich wines.

Join Wine Ambassadors in our refined and comfortable tasting room for a taste of the exquisite. Choose between three wine tasting categories, each catering to different appetites sure to satiate the senses.
Sample La Motte’s current vintages, from Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah to the popular Millennium. Each wine is produced to convey the distinct character of its varietal or blend. The Current Vintage Tasting includes the acclaimed limited release Pierneef Collection.

Wine Tasting Details:Discover the wine profile full of history with a Vinoteque Tasting. This tasting reveals La Motte’s evolution through the Cellarmaster’s selection of exceptional Syrah styles or mature vintages.
R250 per person. Bookings are essential and limited to groups of 12 or less.

Celebrating La Motte’s best vintages and Franschhoek’s produce, the food and wine pairing marries five tasting plates, prepared by the Pierneef à La Motte kitchen, and five complementary La Motte wines to create an all-encapsulating taste experience.
Wine Pairing Details:Enjoy a food and wine pairing created by our Cellarmaster and Head Chef intended to celebrate heritage cuisine, La Motte wines and the Franschhoek region.
R295 per person. Available for groups of 2 to 15 by appointment only.
Bookings and payment should be made at least two days before the tasting. Please confirm any dietary requirement on the reservation. Note that amending items will affect the taste structure of the food pairing.
