Introducing La Famille Sauvignon Blanc - from our table to yours

The 2025 vintage of La Motte’s popular Sauvignon Blanc is about more than capturing the flavours of what was an exceptional harvest.  In line with our programme of renewal, the wine’s label has been refreshed and a lovely new look and feel introduce the new vintage.

Now called La Famille Sauvignon Blanc, this popular white wine celebrates the fact that this Sauvignon Blanc joins each and every get-together at La Motte, making it an inherent part of our family – and therefor, also of yours!

Despite the changes to how it looks and sounds, this reliable wine with its natural acidity and fine texture, stays the refreshing glass of La Motte Sauvignon Blanc that is so often used as an aperitif, while being a trusted partner on the table when friends and family sit down to a meal.

Grapes for the 2025 Sauvignon Blanc originate from vineyards in several areas of the Cape Winelands with the combination of Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Cape South Coast terroir contributing freshness, elegance and delightful fruit.

Grapes were harvested at between 18° and 23° Balling to capture natural acidity and produce fuller, riper flavours. The process was reductive, with cold fermentation at 14 °C. To enhance complexity, the wine was left on the lees after fermentation and also blended with 4% Semillon.

In the glass, the wine displays a hue of delicate straw with a subtle green tinge. Aromas of intense granadilla and lime greet the nose and follow through on the palate with a medium-bodied mouthfeel and a refined mineral finish. Beautifully balanced acidity and pH in the analysis suggests excellent maturation potential.

Enjoy with seafood - from freshly grilled fish to more luxurious crayfish, those often-challenging and spicy Asian flavours, its natural partner, Goat's cheese or a choice of vegetables – in salads and even soups! - fresh or with grilled Mediterranean vegetables.
